NT Max is a leading brand name of septic treatments online.  We visited their website to gather some specific product information and found it to be both informative as well as professional.  We understand that not all homeowners are up to speed with all the ins and outs of how septic tanks work, and multiple pictures and explanations help readers have access to the basic information they need to make an informed decision.

It is hard to think of septic treatments without the name of RID-X coming to mind.  They have possibly the most visible or best recognized name in the industry.  No website dedicated to providing consumers honest, third party reviews would be complete without a review of RID-X.

What jumps out to you right away when you visit the RID-X website is that the information they contain and the products that they offer are really no different than many of the septic treatments in the market place.  They offer a monthly treatment, no shocks, and you can purchase it in gel pack, powder or liquid format.

Because RID-X is not really designed to help with severe back-ups or flooding systems, we decided to test it on moderately functioning systems.  While it is difficult to measure the strength or effectiveness of a product without visible symptoms of a backed up system, we decided to test it on functioning systems, but ones that had slow running drains and toilets and displayed some of the drain odor common with a backed up system. CLR is a brand that perhaps you have heard of.  They have a number of household cleaning solutions most of which have a fairly decent reputation.  Most notably their Lime Remover Treatment cleans out old shower heads quite effectively returning them to original form.  In this instance, we are discussing the Septic Treatment from CLR.

CLR Septic Treatment comes in an easily handled liquid formula.  It is much easier to deal with than those terrible 5 gallon buckets that leave so many homeowners unable to lift or move around.  The treatment is priced very affordably much like the RID X brand; both companies are selling to the masses through storefronts nationwide.

While CLR Septic Treatment is easily accessible any many of your local stores, we were concerned about the fact that we could find very little about what CLR’s method of treatment was, or what exactly we were  putting into our systems.  While the brand name is reputable, we thought it a bit strange that so little information was available. In our searches for the best sewer treatment we came across Bio Zone.  To be honest it is kind of hard to keep all these “bio” brands separate.  There seems to be a large quantity of companies out there so determined to sell you there septic treatments that they must use the names that resemble one another.  Bio Zone, however has had some decent reviews on line, and we thought that testing this recognizable brand was in order.

With the exception of having to search through a number of website to actually find a place where we could order the product, everything seemed professional and timely.  The instructions to use the product were simple, about average for these monthly type treatments.  We noticed that Bio Zone DID NOT offer a shock treatment for troubled systems, instead relying only on the monthly dosage to do the trick. Bio-Safe One Septic Treatment

Bio-Safe One is another brand that has gained in popularity and is visible throughout the internet.  Like many others online, they sell a 5 gallon liquid “shock” or super “sludge digester” and then they also sell a monthly maintenance program.  Between the two, Bio Safe One provides consumers everything that they need regardless of the septic or sewer treatment needs.

We wanted to compare both shock as well as the monthly treatment due to the fact that in our opinion, most customers need both depending on the age of their septic system.  We purchased the 5 gallon bucket, and almost choked on the price of $379.  Their monthly maintenance program was more affordable, however the only choices available are a 2 year and a 3 year supply, so those too cost $140-$200 depending on the option you select.  All in all, it was over $500 we had to spend for this treatment. Septi-Blast Septic Tank Cleaner

Another Sewer Treatment recommended by one of our readers.  Septi-Blast, however has a much stronger reputation on the internet, or at least it ranks higher in the search engines.  They offer a couple products for consumers, one of which is Septi-Blast Septic Tank Cleaner.

Essentially it is just a monthly septic tank treatment designed to increase bacteria to help digest the sludge or bio mat clogging up your system.  Sounds very similar to most ordinary septic treatments.  We were a bit surprised that they didn’t offer a “shock” type product, however if the bacteria in their treatment multiplies as they say, a shock treatment may just not be necessary.

When we visited the website for some initial information, we were pleased to see that they offer a 5 year supply for a very affordable price, and they offered a guarantee as well, which is always comforting.  We were somewhat concerned with the quality or professionalism of the website, it seemed more like a one or two person operation, but we had no proof or reason to feel that way.  It was more of a gut feeling. We came across the BioWorld Product as the result of one of our readers contacted us asking for us to review it.  We looked it up on the internet, and after a bit of trouble finding the website, we were able to see the product line that they offer.  They have more than just septic treatments, but it was only that product that we were interested in reviewing for this website.

We visited the website to gather some initial information.  We found that the website was somewhat concerning as it seemed to be somewhat unprofessional, but as many of you know, the quality and professionalism of a website does not necessarily indicate the quality of the product itself.

This product is a combination of two treatments, much like our Best Sewer Treatment, a liquid as well as a powdered one.  Seemed simple enough.  We certainly liked the price of the product and we were hopeful to receive the same results as many of the more expensive treatments. If you have spent any time searching the internet for a septic tank cleaner or a sewer treatment chances are you have come across the Flush-It brand.  We wanted to review the product, as it seemed as though it was surfacing on a number of websites related to the industry.  If it was gathering that type of attention it certainly warrants a review on this website as well.

Our first indication that something was unusual about this septic treatment was discovered through a simple search of the product on Google.  What we found was that it seems that Flush-It is an internet affiliate program based product.  Meaning, they essentially pay internet marketers to offer positive reviews about their product, provided that those reviews produce a sale for the Flush-It company.  It is a practice employeed by many different companies in many different industries, however it is somewhat rare in the sewer treatment market, and it raised a few concerns with our staff.  Continue reading Flush-It Septic Energizer →

Bio-Active Septic Tank Treatment

Bio-Active is another brand of septic tank treatment that is available in some stores or larger online websites.  It is a powdered treatment designed to be used monthly to maintain a healthy, smooth running system.  While the Bio-Active brand may not be recognizable to you, they have carved out a decent reputation within the industry, and were certainly a nice addition to have on this review site.

We actually purchased the item online through a RV website.  As many of you readers know, RV’s and other motor homes need to utilize a sewer or septic treatment to keep their systems running smooth and odor free.  And when you are in an RV, the tight quarters demand an effective treatment.
